CHALLENGES FOR THE FUTURE

We are rising to the challenges of technology and society. New and clean technologies for a better standard of living are the challenges for the future. Resource efficiency, recycling, and climate protection are topics we have been addressing for years.

Clean Technologies

Surface technology is a key technology. We are constantly working on optimizing chemical and electrolytic processes. Conserving resources means working efficiently in all areas. These improvements allow us to offer our customers excellent value for money. The requirements imposed by legislation at the EU and national levels are constantly increasing and causing additional costs.

Know-how is also a matter of communication and networking

For over 70 years, our success has also been based on the expertise of our employees. To continuously develop this knowledge, we actively cultivate our connections with development partners and associations, as well as with relevant research institutions and institutes. Heuberger employees regularly participate in international conferences and trade fairs and collaborate in working groups within industry associations and standards bodies. Because for us, progress means always looking beyond our own horizons.

Employees

Innovation is only possible with highly qualified personnel. We not only have skilled workers with training in electroplating and surface technology, but also employees with training in project management, chemical engineering, mechatronics, value analysis, REFA (German Association for Work Study and Business Organization), and corrosion expertise.

New Technologies

The demand for new materials and thus surface finishes is constantly growing. However, almost all new developments in materials, design, and construction only acquire the properties that enable their use—such as hardness, wear resistance, gloss, color, biocompatibility, and much more—through surface treatment. The right surface treatment leads to high utility and a long product lifespan.

Laboratory

A well-equipped laboratory supports us in our experiments. Collaboration with international partners promotes the exchange of experience. Key topics in recent years have been

  • Chromium VI-free passivation for the aerospace, aviation, and mechanical engineering industries
  • New lightfast colors
  • More environmentally friendly and cost-effective processes
  • Refining of new light metal alloys
  • REACH and RoHS compliant

Since 2002, we have been using chromium VI-free conversion processes that more than replace the traditional “yellow chromating” process and are more environmentally friendly.

In times of change, we are not content with what we have achieved. We optimize existing processes for our customers to meet these future challenges.
